High energy buildings – Innovative technologies: With our BIPV components, we’re advancing the concepts of generating and using solar power as well as system networking. The components are photovoltaic elements manufactured in compliance with the ‘Technical rules for the use of linear supported glazing’ according to DIN 18008, DIN EN 61215 as well as 61730, and have been granted ‘general building approval’ by DIBt (German Institute of Civil Engineering).
We offer a wide range of customized solutions for BIPV (building-integrated photovoltaics), such as applications for rear ventilated curtain facades, overhead glazing systems and safety glazing. Visually appealing integration into the building’s exterior is enabled by flexibility in terms of shape, size and colour. Alongside the basic function of generating and using solar energy, these applications are available with additional benefits such as blocking heat, sun and glare, weather protection, noise insulation, shading, and fire and burglary prevention.
Variable protection from the sun and heat is provided by adapting the transmission ratio and special coating techniques. Moreover, indoor brightness and climate can be adjusted as required. Our photovoltaic modules for building-integrated applications are specifically designed in line with the client’s requirements and environmental conditions (for instance to ensure they easily withstand extreme heat or heavy loads) and last for more than twenty years of warranty. Our developments have a general building approval including flammability classification.
Product specifications: We have a wide range of different solar BIPV glass technologies designed to best meet the application and situational needs of our clients. All our products can be manufactured into insulated double-glazed units and are fully warranted and certified.
Cadmium Telluride (CdTe): Transparent see-through Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) thin-film Photovoltaic technology. Colourless/grey/black pixelated appearance. Available in a range of transparencies, opaque to 80% light transmission. Standard panel dimension is 1200mm x 600mm x 7.1mm, but also available in any bespoke shape and size up to 3m. A full range of color laminates or coatings are available on request, with an efficiency starting from 12% or 118Wp/m².
Monocrystalline Silicon (c-Si): Semi-Transparent Monocrystalline Silicon (c-Si) photovoltaic technology. All Black square silicon cells are embedded in a transparent glass-glass laminate. Available in range of transparencies and/or with back white or black film. Standard panel 10% light transmission and dimension 1695mm x 1005mm x 7.1mm (60 cell) or 2016mm x 1005mm x 7.1mm (72 cell). A full range of coatings are available on request, with an efficiency from 20% or 210Wp/m².
